Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson can be easily ascribed as one of the top 10 best experienced and credentialed lawyer on the U.S. Supreme Court’s history of almost 120 Justices. Some of her predecessors never sat as judges nor ever step foot in any law school. There was a time interested folks apprenticed or self-taught to later serve as lawyers, with no formal education.

Presently, Jesus serves as a lawyer (Advocate) for some who call for his intervention on their matters or those he selects for pro bono services. As the Passion of Christ was read in church this Palm Sunday morning, Jesus’ experience reminds me of the pains of law school. He endured the Direct Examination by Pilate. Sent off to Herod for a new trial. Remanded to Pilate for final adjudication and sentencing by the Jury (You) before a Pilate whose directed verdict of Not Guilty was overturned in a plea-bargained outcome.

All through the legal proceedings, Jesus was subjected to Constitutional Law, Rules of Evidence, Civil Pro…. The outcome was favorable or unfavorable, depends on your side of the bench. Undisputable, the Training makes him a better Lawyer for us.

Happy Palm Sunday to each of you and best of this Holy Week. He shall rise soon
